Our curriculum spans a wide range of topics, all crafted by leading experts in the pet grooming industry. Under the guidance of Joey Villani, the "godfather of grooming", our courses are developed to ensure comprehensive learning. From fundamental grooming techniques, customer service, social media management, marketing and business management, to the American Kennel Clubs (AKC) S.A.F.E. Program each course is infused with the wisdom and insights of professionals who have shaped the industry.

Education

The right education program is paramount regardless of your path to becoming a Professional Pet Groomer. Programs will vary but all should cover the basics while the better programs will require more in terms of its curriculum and time

By the time you are ready for the second stage of your training in a salon setting you should review what you have learned in the first stage about selection and care for your tools and equipment as well as Salon Safety

Since the pet grooming industry is not regulated it is important that the program you chose provide you with a “Certificate Of Completion” for the hours you have spent and dedicated along your quest to become a Professional Pet Groomer.

Joey Villani brings a wealth of experience and a deep love for pet care to our platform. As a renowned figure in the grooming industry, his teachings are infused with the insight and knowledge that decades of experience can provide..

Susan Sholar

Susan Sholar has spent over 49 years in the pet care industry, working in various roles including veterinarian technician, grooming salon owner, and president of the California Federation of Dog Clubs, where she influenced animal-related legislation.

She founded the California College of Pet Careers, judged AKC dog shows, developed the AKC S.A.F.E. Groomers/Salon Certification program, and now serves as the AKC delegate for the Black Russian Terrier Club of America, dedicating her career to improving standards and education in pet care and grooming.

Dr. Karen “Doc” Halligan

Dr. Karen “Doc” Halligan is a well-known veterinarian and animal welfare advocate with a passion for animal health and well-being. DocHalligan earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the prestigious University of California, Davis. After completing her formal education, driven by her love for animals and a desire to enhance the human-animal bond, she has worked tirelessly to provide exceptional care for pets and educate pet owners on responsible pet ownership.
